Are you one of those people who flush expired or unused prescription medications down the drain?  Where do these drugs go once they are flushed?  They go right back into your home through your kitchen and bathroom faucets.  If these expired and unused drugs weren’t good in the first place, they certainly can’t be doing us any good the second time around!

There are numerous ways of disposing of these drugs and it isn’t that difficult to do.

The easiest method is to visit your local sheriff’s office. For your convenience we’ve included a site where you can identify the most convenient place for your drug drop off in Florida: http://www.dep.state.fl.us/WASTE/categories/medications/pages/disposal.htm

If you are outside of Florida a quick Google search for “drug disposal” can lead you in the right direction.

You can also consult with your Physician. Depending on the prescription, whether it’s been opened or not and isn’t expired, there may be some facilities that will take these drugs and disperse them to individuals that cannot afford them. Keep in mind this is only on certain medications.

Why not make a commitment and join the National Take Back the Drug Initiative taking place this April 30, 2016 from 10:00 am- 2:00m http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/drug_disposal/takeback/

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE dispose of your unwanted drugs appropriately and make it a safer environment for all of us.
